Try it beforeanyone else

The app is in testing, so it runs inside a free app called Expo Go rather than from the App Store. About two minutes to set up. Everything you log is real and stays with your account when the app launches properly.

Free, from your phone's app store. It is the container the app runs in during testing.

Create a free Expo account

Open Expo Go and tap the person icon in the top right. Any email works. Expo Go needs this to open shared apps — it is their requirement, not ours, and you will never need to log into it again.

Accept the invite from Expo

You will get an email from Expo inviting you to the mak816s-team account. Accept it. Until you do, the app will refuse to open with a "not viewable" error — that is Expo's access rule, not a bug. Use the same email you signed up to Expo Go with.

If it asks "Development build or Expo Go?"

Pick Expo Go. That prompt appears the first time only.

Already on your phone? You cannot scan your own screen, so use this instead. It opens a page with an "Open in Expo Go" button.

Next time, just open Expo Go — the app is under Recently opened. It updates itself when there is a new version.

If something goes wrong

Tapping the button does nothing, or opens a page of error text: Expo Go is not installed yet, or you skipped the account step. Do steps 1 and 2 first, then come back.
"This project is incompatible with this version of Expo Go": Your Expo Go is out of date. Update it from the app store and try again.
"Not viewable in Expo Go: the signed-in Expo account does not have access": You have not accepted the invite yet, or you accepted it with a different email than your Expo Go login. Check your email for the invite from Expo, and make sure the address matches.
It asks you to sign in: That is step 2. Create the Expo account, then tap the link or scan again.
The app opens but looks old, or something you were told is fixed is still broken: Close Expo Go fully (swipe it away in the app switcher), open it again, and open the app. Do that twice. Updates download on one launch and apply on the next.
Anything else: Email [email protected] or use "Tell us something" in the app's Settings. Say what you tapped and what you saw.
